Doing business in the UAE

The United Arab Emirates, with its rapidly developing infrastructure, investor-friendly policies and political stability, is undoubtedly one of the most attractive business destination in the World.

 

The Government encourages the private sector in a free trade regime with low tariff barriers and minimum legal hurdles. Many multinational companies have established branches in the country, many are engaged in manufacturing products or assembling them and many others have set up distribution centres for the region.

Collectively India and China alone comprise almost 40 per cent of the world’s total population and support a combined GDP in excess of US$5 trillion, providing significant economic and trading opportunities.

Dubai Expo 2020

The World Expo in Dubai in 2020 will be the first to be held in the MENA region. HH Sheikh Moahmmed, Ruler of Dubai promised Dubai would "astonish the world". The staging of the world fair and the preparations leading up to it are expected to result in 277,000 new jobs in the UAE, an injection of nearly $40 billion and at least 25 visitors.

Abu Dhabi Vision 2030

In 2006, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Princeof Abu Dhabi launched Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 with the ambition to creat of a long-term roadmap for economic progress for the Emirate through the establishment of a common framework aligning all policies and plans and fully engaging the private sector in their implementation.

UAE Vision 2021

In 2010, the United Arab Emirates’ Government launched the UAE Vision 2021, which “sets the key themes for the Socio-economic development of the UAE” and calls for “a shift to a diversified and knowledge based economy”  by 2021.

This program will be supervised by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.
